FAQs

Where do sessions take place?

At the moment I’m running events at sites in Runcorn, Frodsham and near Lymm, all in Cheshire. I’ll always make sure you have full instructions for where to meet. All sites used courtesy of the Woodland Trust.

What should I wear?

Check the weather forecast and dress accordingly. We carry on in the rain so bring a waterproof coat and remember that we will be sitting or moving slowly so you might need an extra layer compared with what you would wear for a brisk walk. Long sleeves and trousers are recommended to protect from biting insects, brambles and nettles. Walking shoes or boots are ideal; trainers are fine on a dry day as long as you don’t mind getting them mucky.

How fit do I need to be?

The walking is slow but can sometimes be on uneven ground. Mindful movement is very gentle and you do it within your own capability. We sit on logs or the ground at times. I provide foam mats to sit on or if you require it I can bring folding camping chairs.. If you have any questions about this, please email me at janinecounsellor@gmail.com.

What should I bring?

You may wish to bring sun cream and a cold drink in the summer months and some insect repellent in summer and autumn.

What should I leave behind?

If you can bear to, your phone. If you really need to have it with you, switch it to silent. It’s best to leave your watch behind too, if you wear one.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We carry on, experiencing the forest in all its seasons and weathers, unless high winds or lightning are forecast. These can make the woodland unsafe. I check forecasts 24 hours before an event and will contact you if I have to cancel. You can choose to reschedule or have a full refund.

What if I have special dietary requirements?

I can provide non-dairy, gluten-free etc for biscuits and hot drinks. Please let me know when booking.

When do I have to pay?

Public events are booked via Eventbrite with payment on booking. I use a pay what you can afford system so that you choose the amount to pay at checkout. I suggest amounts for if you are on a low income, doing ok financially, or feeling flush and want to help subsidise places for others.

For bespoke individual or group sessions, I ask for payment by bank transfer on confirmation of our session date. I’ll give you full details when we’re discussing your requirements.

What if I need to cancel?

Bookings for public events are non-refundable. If you can’t make it, I would ask that you contact me so we’re not waiting for you.

For individual or group events, you can reschedule a booking once. Bookings are non-refundable unless in exceptional circumstances.

What if you cancel?

If I have to cancel an event, you can choose to reschedule or have a full refund. This may occur due to high winds, lightning, illness or other unforeseen events.

What about GDPR?

I keep information you provide when booking secure and use it only for the purpose of communicating with you about your session and keeping invoicing records for tax purposes. After coming on a session with me, I will invite you to join my email list, but this is entirely your choice and you can unsubscribe at any time.
