About me

I’ve always been the outdoorsy type – leading walking groups at uni, wild camping and the like, but I began my career as a newspaper journalist. A few years ago, I decided teaching would be my plan B. It wasn’t for me. But it did lead me into helping out at a forest school. I started working with them and trained to be a Forest School leader. Since then, I’ve worked with children from toddlers to teens and thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors all day, cooking over a fire and peering into bug nets. Meanwhile, I’ve been developing my own mindfulness meditation practice along with some yoga, some chi kung and some sitting on a log staring at the clouds. I’m now an integrative counsellor and am taking therapy outdoors.

I’m a down-to-earth sort and my group sessions are in keeping with this. I believe we can all benefit from time spent closer to nature and we can do so while keeping an open mind about quite how and why that works.
